Footbridge over the Fier

Corbelled footbridge on existing masonry bridge (RD991) over the Fier river, for cyclists and pedestrians.

The load-bearing structure consists of a metal box and brackets resting on the backs of the piers.

The caisson tapers off at mid-span, leaving the arches of the existing bridge visible. A 4.5m-wide belvedere is positioned at the axis of the Fier river.

Usable width: variable from 3m to 4m at ends and belvedere.
